Breadwinners and Bedshitters Week 7
Week (unlucky number) 7 is finally over as is the season of dynamic rookie Breece Hall, and quite possibly the playoff chances of some of the preseason favorites. The seasons aren’t lost for DK Metcalf and big Mike Williams, however, both will miss some time after suffering injuries this week. Oh, and Christian McCaffrey got traded to the 49ers! There was plenty of excitement in week 7, so let's get it on!
Breadwinners
Joe Burrow/Ja’Marr Chase/Tyler Boyd

There may not be an offense firing on all cylinders to the degree that the Cincinnati Bengals are. After smashing the Breadwinners list last week, they are back and added a third player this week. Sunday Joe Burrow scored 39.24 fantasy points on his way to 34 completions, all-purpose yards, and 4 total TDs on the day. With numbers like that it’s easy to expect big days out of his receiving corps and that’s precisely what happened. Ja’Marr Chase scored 33 PPR points on his way to 8 catches 130 yards and 2 TDs. He was the top receiver for the week. Right behind him was the number 2 receiver on the day Tyler Boyd who had 29.5 fantasy points behind 8 catches, 155 yards, and a TD. For the year the Bengals now have 3 WRs in the top 25. They are the definition of breadwinners.
Austin Ekeler

Austin Ekeler has been the Charger’s offense this season, last week was no different. Ekeler only had 9 carries for 31 yards and a TD, however, Ekeler has always been an RB2 and WR2 wrapped in one. He caught all 12 of his targets for 96 yards and a receiving TD. He is now running away as the top overall fantasy back in PPR formats. With Keenan Allen constantly being out of the lineup and with big Mike Williams going down to injury, we may have not seen the best of Ekeler yet.
Josh Jacobs

Josh Jacobs was classified right in the middle of the running back dead zone in fantasy draft season. Clearly, he didn’t get the memo. Jacobs had another monster day rushing 20 times for 143 yards and 3 TDs. He also added another 3 catches and 12 yards on the day. Jacobs gone from fantasy afterthought, all the way to the number 2 overall back in PPR formats. It’s just like all the pundits predicted.

Aaron Rodgers

We’re about to change the name of the shit list to the Rodgers list. Rodgers has been awful and there is no other way to sugarcoat it. Posting three consecutive losses is never a good thing, yet it’s even worse when it comes to Giants, Jets, and Commanders in games the Packers were favored in. The focus, of this column, typically isn’t to discuss team successes and failures. We’re making a special exception for Rodgers and this Green Bay team and throwing the statistics away, much like they are doing to their season. Rodgers’ biggest test yet is coming in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills, and if the last month is any indication, it’s going to be another long weekend. We’ll see you next week, Aaron!
Tom Brady

As bad as Aaron Rodgers and the Packers have been, Brady and his bunch have been even worse. As Rodgers and company were losing the last three games to underdogs, at least two of those teams have overperformed. Over the last three weeks Tom Brady has lost to Atlanta, Pittsburgh, and Carolina. Atlanta is playing okay football right now, Pittsburgh and Carolina are currently competing for the first pick in next season’s draft. Brady draws the Ravens, Rams, and Seahawks before going into the Bucs bye week. They will need to win at least two of those three to stay in the playoff hunt.
