In My Defense: Week #12 D/ST Streams
D/ST Streamers – Week #12
Below are three streaming options for the DST slot in Week #12 but before we go ahead, there’s a few DSTs that are highly owned in fantasy leagues, but you should double check your waiver wire or FA to see if they’re somehow available.
Philadelphia Eagles – One of my favorite DST plays this week, the Eagles visit the New York Giants who have been so bad offensively this season, Offensive Coordinator Jason Garrett was relieved of his duties this week. Over the last three weeks the Giants are averaging 2.7 sacks allowed and 1.7 turnovers per game, both marks ranking near the highest in the NFL. The Eagles have been a strong DST option all season long and have gotten better as the year progresses. Their unit is the #8 DST on the season, and the #2 DST since Week 8. There should be plenty of sack and turnover opportunities this week against Daniel Jones, and the Eagles are a good bet to finish inside the Top 5 at the DST position this week.
Houston Texans – This week Houston hosts the New York Jets as 3.5-point home favorites in a game with a 44.5 Over/Under, giving New York one of the lowest implied totals on the week of only 20.5 points. Houston seems to have figured things out a bit on defense, ranking as the 6th best DST in fantasy since Week 8. They lead the NFL in takeaways per game over the last 3 weeks with 3.3 per game and are sacking the QB more than twice per game in that time. Houston has allowed some big scoring outputs to opposing offenses, but the matchup with the Jets should limit the points they surrender this week. A low Over/Under, plus Houston’s ability to generate splash plays should get them inside the Top 12 this week.
Jacksonville Jaguars – An unusual suspect for a DST streams, the Jaguars host the Atlanta Falcons this week as 2-point home underdogs in a game with a 46.5 Over/Under. The Jaguars started the year as one of the worst DST options in the league, but have seemingly improved recently, moving into the middle of the league over the last few weeks. While they’re not an imposing streaming option, the Atlanta Falcons have been gold for DSTs they face. Atlanta has given up the most fantasy points to DSTs this season across just about any time frame, and recent losses of Calvin Ridley and Cordarelle Patterson has made their anemic offense even worse. Atlanta is one of the worst offenses in the NFL, ranking near the bottom in scoring and yards per game. They also surrender huge amounts of splash plays, giving up almost 3 sacks and 3 turnovers per game over the last three weeks. The low Over/Under plus the favorable matchup against Atlanta should give the Jacksonville DST a useful week.
I hope this article helped you and as always, stay true.
