In My Defense: Week #14 D/ST Streams
D/ST Streamers – Week #14
Below are three streaming options for the DST slot in Week #14 but before we go ahead, there’s a few DSTs that are highly owned in fantasy leagues, but you should double check your waiver wire or FA to see if they’re somehow available.
Los Angeles Chargers – This week the Chargers’ DST has a real good chance to repeat as the #1 DST in fantasy, after a monster game last week against the Bengals. The Chargers host the decimated New York Giants as 10-point favorites with only a 42.5-point Over/Under, leaving the Giants with the second lowest implied total on the week. The Giants have been a great matchup to target for DSTs all season long, and even more so this week as third string QB Jake Fromm is expected to start for the first time in the NFL. The Chargers have been one of the most opportunistic defenses in the NFL, averaging 1.7 turnovers and 3.3 sacks per game over the last 3 weeks. Combine the Chargers’ ability to create splash plays, with a low expected score from the Giants, and a 3rd string QB’s first start, and you get a recipe that could put the Chargers at the top of the DST rankings once again this week.
Green Bay Packers – The Packers’ DST has been solid this season, currently sitting as the #11 DST, and most likely available on your waiver wire since Green Bay was on bye last week. Another monster spread, the Packers are favored by 12.5 points with a 43-.5-point Over/Under, which gives Chicago the lowest implied total this week. The Bears are giving up the 6th most points to DSTs this season, and while he has improved somewhat week to week so far, Justin Fields is slated to be back under center this week, which has typically been a plus matchup. Expect the Packers to create a few sacks and turnovers this week as the Bears play catch up.
Tennessee Titans – At one time this season not long ago, the Titans were the top DST in fantasy football, but a rough two game skid has managers weary about rolling them out again. Coming off the bye week, hosting the Jaguars as 8.5-point favorites gives Tennessee a favorable game script for their DST and implies the 5th lowest team total of the week, only 17.5 for Jacksonville. The Jags have allowed the 3rd most fantasy points to DSTs as they’ve struggled to get much offense going in several games this year and have given up 2 sacks and 2 turnovers per game the last 3 games.
I hope this article helped you and as always, stay true.
