In My Defense: Week #15 D/ST Streams
D/ST Streamers – Week #15
Below are three streaming options for the DST slot in Week #15 but before we go ahead, there’s a few DSTs that are highly owned in fantasy leagues, but you should double check your waiver wire or FA to see if they’re somehow available.
Miami Dolphins – After an abundance of attractive DST streaming options last week, this week provides a bit more of a challenge to fantasy managers, but one DST stands above the rest. After starting 1-7, Miami has been hot lately, winning their last 5 games in a row, and there’s a very high chance they were on the waiver wire this week given they just had their bye in Week 14. This week Miami hosts the Jets who have struggled all season long and are giving up by far the most points to the DST position this season. This year the Jets have allowed 3 sacks and 2 turnovers per game, both marks ranking bottom 3 in the NFL. Over their hot streak, Miami is taking the ball away twice per game and getting to the QB 3 times each game, so their opportunistic defense matches up well with the Jets offense that gives away splash plays like candy. Throw in the fact the Jets have the lowest implied team total this week with only 17 points, and the Miami DST has a great shot to finish as the #1 overall unit on the week.
Philadelphia Eagles – Finding a strong streaming option outside of Miami this week is tough, and I think the Eagles can help provide fantasy managers with a solid performance as they take on Washington at home as 7-point favorites. Washington had been on a bit of a run, winning 4 games straight, before getting completely dismantled against Dallas in Week 14. The final score looks like a close game, but the Dallas defense had their way on Sunday, accumulating 5 sacks, 3 fumbles, 1 INT and a defensive score. While I don’t expect the same numbers from Philly this week, they’ve been a solid DST in the second half of the season, ranking as the #6 DST since Week 8. Washington gives up the 10th most points to DSTs this year and has one of the lowest implied team totals this week, making Philly a strong play.
San Francisco 49ers – A sneaky good start this week is San Fran, who are 9-point favorites at home against Atlanta. The Falcons have given up the 2nd most points to DSTs this year, and the 49ers have been surging in recent weeks, tied with Philly as the #6 DST since Week 8. The expected game script, combined with the 49ers dominant rushing attack, should lead to limited possessions for Atlanta, and likewise, limited points. The Falcons have one of the lowest implied totals this week and have averaged under 19 points per game this season, 26th in the NFL. San Fran is averaging over 2 turnovers and over 3 sacks per game over the last 2 weeks, so I expect another solid outing from their DST.
I hope this article helped you and as always, stay true.
