In My Defense: Week #7 D/ST Streams

D/ST Streamers – Week #7

Below are three streaming options for the DST slot in Week #7 but before we go ahead, there’s a few DSTs that are highly owned in fantasy leagues, but you should double check your waiver wire to see if they’re somehow available.

Green Bay Packers – The Packers host a struggling Washington Football Team that has won only 2 games this year by a combined 5 points over the Atlanta Falcons and New York Giants. The Packers are 8.5-point home favorites in a game with a 49.5 Over/Under, implying only 20 points this week for the Football Team. Green Bay’s defense has come alive the last few weeks, averaging 3 sacks and 1.7 takeaways per game over that span, both ranking top 10 in the NFL. Washington has done a decent job protecting the QB and the ball, only giving up 1.3 turnovers and 1 sack the last three weeks, but their 35 points scored over the last 2 weeks has been near the bottom of the league.  As a heavy home favorite, a low implied total for their opponent, and a defense that has been opportunistic as of late, the Packers’ DST should bring home a nice output.

New York Giants – A deeper dive here as the Giants’ defense hasn’t been exactly stellar this season, and they’re for sure on the waiver wire after facing the Rams last week, but I think the Giants are a solid bet as a sleeper DST in Week 7 with limited streaming options. They play host to the Carolina Panthers who seem to have discovered the old Sam Darnold recently. With Christian McCaffrey out of the line-up the last three weeks, the Panthers have given up 4 sacks and 2.7 turnovers per game, ranking last and 31st in the NFL respectively.  They’ve averaged 25 points per game the last three outings, which I expect to be slightly lower this week as the Panthers’ implied team total comes in at 23. A low scoring game plus an offense that’s been bleeding sacks and turnovers should make for a nice day for the Giants’ DST.

Cleveland Browns – Coming into the season the Browns were one of the favorite DSTs of draft season, but have underwhelmed this season, scoring as the 21st DST so far this year. They are most likely on the waiver wire after facing the Arizona Cardinals last week. Even with star players Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt and Baker Mayfield declared out for this game, the Browns are still 1.5-point home favorites in the game with the lowest Over/Under on the week. Denver QB Teddy Bridgewater is questionable, and if Drew Lock gets the start it should be wheels up for the Cleveland DST. Denver has been almost as bad as Carolina offensively, allowing 4 sacks and 2 turnovers per game the last 3 weeks, ranking last and 27th in the NFL respectively. In his only game action so far this year, Lock had a 57% completion, only 113 yards and 1 INT with a QB rating of 52.3. Even if Bridgewater is healthy enough to go, he’s been rough the last few weeks throwing 4 INTs over the last two games.  Denver is allowing the 5th most fantasy points to DSTs over the last two weeks, so Cleveland should be a good bet in a low scoring game as a home favorite.

I hope this article helped you and as always, stay true.
