Primetime Preview: Rams Vs. Packers

Primetime Preview: Rams Vs. Packers

Hello and welcome to my first preview of our Monday night Prime Time game of the 2022 season! This week we take a look at the match up between the 4-9 Los Angeles Rams vs. the 5-8 Green Bay Packers. This game is set to take place at Lambeau where they will be hosting the defending Super Bowl champs. It will be the first time since 2001 that Green Bay has been the host of the reigning champions. This will also be the first time that the Pack has seen the Rams on Monday night since 2004. Green Bay will be coming off a week 14 bye and Los Angeles is coming off a long rest, as their last game was Dec 8th. This will be the first home game for Green Bay in over a month.

Monday night we will see the return of Romeo Doubs since his ankle injury against Detroit. On the flip side, we will not be seeing Cooper Kupp suited up for the Rams. It is very likely we will not see him again this season. This is especially a blow for those of us with him on our fantasy football team! Defensive stud Aaron Donald is still reported to be week to week. Green Bay star cornerback Jaire Alexander will be hoping to move up the ladder where he is currently tied for 4th in interceptions. This time around Baker Mayfield will have more than 48 hours to prepare, and he is set to start in this game. Last week he showed what he could do with limited time, it will be exciting to see what he does with over a week of preparation.

Out of the last 8 meetings between these two teams, the Packers have come away with 7 victories. This time around the Packers are still the favorites to win. Currently the sports books have the over/under at an average of 39.5 with the Packers being the favorite of +7. The underdog Rams should have their hands full Monday.

My over all prediction is pretty in line with that of the sports betting world. However I don’t speak in numbers well, just facts. The facts that I see are, the Rams even with their new gritty QB are heavily injured. They are just straight up not having a good time. Sure they won their last game in fashion during the last minute but the win over the Raiders this year just doesn’t give cause for optimism in my book. Green Bay is coming back together. They are coming back from a win and a bye week. I see the Packers hanging on and coming away with the win this time around.

Score prediction: 27-17
