Welcome back to the TSF Round Table where the guys at Truth Serum Football are joined by our guest Nathan Stults! The Pre Season is under way and as always we're here to answer some questions. Have a question you want us to answer at next week’s Round Table discussion? Drop it in a comment below.
- Over or under 8.5 wins for the Saints this year?
Zach: I think it’ll be just under.
Pynakker: Under, there’s only so much Kamara can do. With Michael Thomas gone a huge chunk of time and the qb situation looking disgusting I don’t see em doing so good.
Jimmy: I think that's right on the cusp for the Saints this year, but I'll take the over.
Nathan: This year the saints may be the hardest team to predict their record because of the uncertainty of who the quarterback will be throughout the season as well as game to game. And with Michael Thomas missing the start of the year is going to limit the team to what they can do. With that I've got the team going under on the total with them finishing 7-10.
- PPR Redraft, Joe Mixon or Najee Harris?
Zach: It’s close for me but I believe Mixon will go off if he can stay on the field. He’ll certainly have the workload to do it. I think Najee will be eased into the workhorse role.
Pynakker: I’m going Najee, the last few RBs to start for the Steelers have done solid and Najee is arguably the most talented one.
Jimmy: Najee Harris. I don't trust Mixon, he’s always getting hurt and that Cincy O Line was horrible last year.
Nathan: Joe Mixon is my choice here. These two offenses went in different directions this year. Cincy fixed their line and added a huge threat at wide receiver which will allow Mixon to have his best fantasy year yet. With Harris, the Steelers lost some of their lineman that will hinder his openings in the run game. Mixon will be a top 5 back this year.
- If you’re a Carson Wentz owner in SF or 2 QB dynasty formats and people are looking to buy him cheap, what’s your asking price?
Zach: If you’re in a pinch for QBs I’d hang onto him. If not, I wouldn’t be too picky.
Pynakker: Whatever I could unload him for lol
Jimmy: I’d take like a 2nd-3rd string WR/RB or some lower round picks. It's tough because they gave him 5-12 weeks which is a long gap.
Nathan: SF and 2 QB dynasty, I would want to sell for a lower tier QB that is a starter as well as a late 1st. Wentz has proven to be relevant when on the field and will be a great player for a contender to buy for a late season push.
- Who’s a must draft sleeper of yours that seems to be off most expert’s radar?
Zach: There’s quite a few to choose from for me but I’ll go with Sammy Watkins. The talent is there and the opportunity is too but his current ECR on fantasypros is #216. He’s well worth a late round dart throw.
Pynakker: Giovani Bernard, when Tom Brady and Bruce Arians recruit a RB when they already have 3 others, I feel that’s a sign they really like him. And Gio lost his job cause the Bengals would stop drafting rbs, not because he wasn’t good lol
Jimmy: I'm really thinking the rookie RB Carter for the Jets is going to have a good year. I think people will avoid him because he's a Jet lol.
Nathan: Jacobi Meyers is my sleeper this year. He finished last season strong for the Patriots and with Newton having a season under his belt with the team and away from injury/covid, Meyers should start the season strong. Look for him in the last round of drafts.
- Start, bench, cut, (for redraft). Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold, Jared Goff.
Zach: Start Jones, bench Darnold and cut Goff.
Pynakker: Start Sam Darnold, bench Daniel Jones and cut Jared Goff, only because I like Darnold in Carolina and you don’t cut motherfucker Jones, he cuts you!
Jimmy: Start Darnold. Sit Goff. Cut Jones.
Nathan: Start Sam Darnold, Bench Daniel Jones and Cut Jared Goff. We've all seen what Tannehill has done since leaving Adam Gase and I feel like Darnold has not been able to showcase his talent just yet. Jones is coming into his best receiving corp he has had and Goff is going into his worst.
