Round Table

Welcome back to the TSF Round Table where the guys at Truth Serum Football are joined by our guest John Mobbs! The Regular Season is in full swing and as always we're here to answer some questions. Have a question you want us to answer at next week’s Round Table discussion? Drop it in a comment below.

This was written prior to the Thursday night game.

  1. What is your upset of the week?

Jordan: Don’t call it an upset. Detroit establishes itself as the not worst team in the North and send ARod further down his spiral.

Jeremiah: Cowboys over Chargers!

Pynakker: I’m going Dolphins over Bills for my upset, Will Fuller seems to be returning which makes that offense that much more interesting!

Tyler: Upset of the week seems fitting to choose the Lions over the Packers. Lions rallied back together Sunday. The Packers had nothing. I still think the Packers have a better team but it may take more than a week to get Rodgers on the same page with his team.

John: I think the Titans will upset the Seahawks in a high scoring affair. Tannehill won't suffer the same pressure he did last week and i'm confident Henry and the running game will be back up to par.

  1. What stud are you fading for week #2?

Jordan: Zeke and Saquon. I think Zeke breaks out next week but he’ll be needed in the trenches to slow Bosa. I still think Quon is a week or two away.

Jeremiah: I'd say Jonathan Taylor, I feel that this could be a Hines game.

Pynakker: Honestly I never wanna fade studs but if I had to choose one to kinda worry about it would be Dalvin Cook, he’s going against a defense that held King Henry to 58 yards on the ground, that’s not an easy feat!

Tyler: The guy I think will need to be faded is Laviska Shenault. I had high expectations for him. Not that it can’t happen this season, but I have been grounded a bit. I’ll play him in a couple of weeks.

John: I think this is an easy one, and it's Saquon Barkley. Washington’s D-line vs a terrible NY O-line is all the info I really need. And saquon is overrated IMO.

  1. Who struggled in week #1 that you think will bounce back big time this week?

Jordan: I expect Derrick Henry to get back to doing Derrick Henry things.

Jeremiah: Julio Jones! He's got a pretty good matchup and I could see that game being a shootout.

Pynakker: I mean you would think it should be Rodgers right? But I’m leaning more towards Jones. I’m gonna say Aaron Jones since Mitchell ran all over the Lions so he should have no issue.

Tyler: Davante Adams. I still think the Packers are going to struggle. However the matchup with Detroit may allow him to have a better day. He needs it.

John: I think the obvious player is Aaron Rodgers, but I want to think outside the box a little bit. I’m going to say Najee Harris this week puts up big time numbers. The Raiders really got banged up on defense this last Monday night. Particularly on the defensive line. The raiders allowed 189 yards rushing in their last outing.

  1. What are your thoughts on the week 1 healthy scratchings of Trey Sermon and Zack Moss?

Jordan: I think they’ll both reestablish themselves in their respective rotations.

Jeremiah: I thought that scratching Moss was just stupid and didn't make much sense. I was ok with Sermon being scratched but he'll have to be active now that Mostert is on IR.

Pynakker: I get it after a season like last year with injuries and then this year many going down already, if you don’t think you need to use a guy, don’t risk it.

Tyler: Everyone likes a surprise day off, but not in the NFL. I think they both will be in the mix in week two.

John: I didn't think much of it honestly.

Regarding Moss, I think the Bills just like Singletary and Breida the most and they are very anxious to utilize their Fullback Reggie Gilliam.

As for Sermon I think it's more complicated. Shannahan is always hard to predict with RBs but I expect to see Sermon getting some action or at the very least be activated going forward. I think and hope Elijah Mitchell will continue the most productivity.

  1. Which rookie impressed you the most in their debut?

Jordan: Ja’Marr Chase shut the haters up quick.

Jeremiah: I have to go with Elijah Mitchell! He showed some real talent and showed that he's ready to play now.

Pynakker: Gotta go with my boy Zach Wilson, I mean he doesn’t have much of a team around him and still managed to do solid, Lawrence is throwing like pre-lasik Winston with 3-3.

Tyler: Devonta Smith.

John: Mac Jones impressed me, let's just ignore his very first snap. He did not come away with a win, but he did walk away with 281 passing yards a TD and a QBR of 102.6. He also passed the eye test with pocket presence, footwork and good accuracy.

That’s it for this week guys. Thanks for reading and as always, stay true.
