Round Table

Welcome back to the TSF Round Table where the guys at Truth Serum Football are joined by our guest Mr. Alex Ormiston! The Regular Season is finally underway and as always we're here to answer some questions. Have a question you want us to answer at next week’s Round Table discussion? Drop it in a comment below.

  1. Let’s get this out of the way, who’s winning Super Bowl 56?

Zach: Unfortunately I think Tampa will repeat. They’re the only Super Bowl Champions to return with all 22 starters.

Jimmy: Super Bowl 56 is going to be Bucs vs Chiefs again with Mahomes winning this time.

David: The Steelers will always be my choice and they are never a bad option. Very rarely are they not in the race for the playoffs come December.

Bill: The Green Bay Packers! Aaron Rodgers is gonna be on a mission this year!! And most of the same crew is back! All I can say is Go Pack Go!!!

Alex: New York Giants (pending Saquon stays healthy) 😜

  1. Give us your upset of the week.

Zach: Saints over Packers. Winston and co. have a good chance to exploit the dysfunction of Rodgers and Green Bay right out of the gate.

Jimmy: Upset of the week is Saints over Packers.

David: Well, originally I did pick Dallas, and they came oh so close...if only Zeke had done...idk...anything. But let's go with the Raiders over the beat up Ravens at home!

Bill: The Colts beat the Seahawks. With Carson Wentz back from his surgery and Frank Reich giving him the start on Sunday! Along with Quentin Nelson I think the colts can pull out the win. With QN back JT should have a good offensive line to help open holes! I think we see a couple of these WRs take a step forward this year.

Alex: Steelers over Bills

  1. With JK Dobbins, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill all going down in Baltimore what could this mean for Lamar Jackson and his fantasy production?

Zach: Jackson’s passing attempts will increase and his rushing opportunities will probably increase as well. I think it could be a good thing for him and his fantasy owners.

Jimmy: Lamar will be leaned on heavily due to the lack of RBs on the roster. That could be a good or bad thing. I think his points take a dip from what is normal.

David: Shouldn't matter. This team is designed to run. They already picked up 3 proven RBs to replace the injured guys. Bell, Murray and Freeman should, at the very least, provide some distraction for Lamar to do his thing (that made me want to vomit, sticking up for a smelly Raven)

Bill: Poor Baltimore, man they have been torn up by the injury bug. I think this means more designed runs for Lamar, but do defenses see this coming?! I think Mark Andrews will see a big target share along with Marquise Brown and Sammy Watkins. I honestly don’t think it will hurt Lamar too much if anything may help him by means of him getting more runs and possibly being forced to throw more.

Alex: Lamar’s Throwing percentage goes up or he just becomes Michael Vick in Madden 04!

  1. What stud are you fading for week 1?

Zach: I’m fading Justin Herbert for week 1 vs Washington. Unlike their team name, that defense is no joke.

Jimmy: Baker Mayfield vs KC

David: Kenny Golladay. Besides being banged up he is facing one of the toughest defenses on paper, especially in the secondary. It is also his first game with Danny Dimes throwing to him, so expect some kinks while they sync up.

Bill: I think I would fade on any of the Steelers wideouts. They’re going up against a Buffalo secondary that is really tough. Last year they only allowed 13 touchdowns to wideouts and with the likes of Jordan Poyer, Tre’ Davious White and Micah Hyde all returning I would expect them to do the same this year

Alex: I’m fading out Kelce for week 1.

  1. Who is your favorite to win Comeback player of the year?

Zach: Dak Prescott. He was on an insane pace last season before his devastating injury and he picked up right where he left off.

Jimmy: Comeback player of the year will be CMC

David: Big Ben. The Steelers started last year 11-0. While some called it a fluke, they had one of the best defenses to play the game, and arguably got better on that side of the ball. The main knock was the offensive line and lack of a running game. They handled half that issue by going out and getting Najee Harris in the draft. If the young line can jell quickly and give Ben time to throw, look for my man to go out on top with another ring!

Bill: I’m going with Christian McCaffrey here. Up until last year CMC never missed a game. I think last year was a fluke. And I think we see a solid year from the #1 fantasy pick!

Alex: Comeback player of the year will be Joe Burrow for sure.

That’s it for this week guys. Thanks for reading and as always, stay true.
