Round Table

Welcome back to the TSF Round Table where the guys at Truth Serum Football are joined by our guest Robert Dawson! The Regular Season is rolling along and as always we're here to answer some questions. Have a question you want us to answer at next week’s Round Table discussion? Drop it in a comment below.

This was written prior to the Thursday night game.

  1. What is your upset of the week?

Jordan: Packers over Cardinals

Jason: My upset of the week is Packers over Cardinals. The Packers have a tough test against an undefeated Arizona team, but I believe Aaron Rodgers and company find a way to get it done, even with their top 2 WRs inactive for this game.

Anthony: Detroit Lions over the Philadelphia Eagles. Detroit has been playing some inspired football this season even though they’re winless. They’ve given solid efforts against some top tier teams like the Ravens, Vikings and Rams and I think they get their first win at home this week. The Eagles have been very sloppy this season and have only gotten wins against the Falcons and Panthers.

Tyler: Indy over Tennessee for my upset.

Robert: Week upsets this week i would say the Vikings win over the Cowboys or the Colts win over the Titans.

  1. Who is the most valuable WR in PPR Dynasty formats right now?

Jordan: It’s got to be Ja’Marr Chase.

Jason: The most valuable WR in PPR Dynasty formats right now has to be Ja’Marr Chase. Chase has been putting up monster numbers in his rookie campaign and will only develop more as a top tier fantasy asset as time goes on.

Anthony: The number one WR right now has to be Jamar Chase. After a rough preseason Chase has exploded in his rookie year and is currently 2nd in the NFL in receiving yards. He will be attached to Joe Burrow for the next decade and already looks the part of an elite #1.

Tyler: I think that J. Chase is the hot guy to have for dynasty.

Robert: Most valuable WR I think is Chase right now.

  1. What stud are you fading this week?

Jordan: Playoff Lenny finally comes back down to Earth this week.

Jason: The stud I am fading this week is DK Metcalf. Metcalf is a freak athlete with big play ability, but Geno Smith hasn’t been getting the ball to him as frequently as people would like. It’s a definite head scratcher because DK is an explosive weapon that needs to be utilized more in Seattle’s offense.

Anthony: 3. Joe Burrow. While he might not qualify as a typical “stud” Burrow has been on fire lately and has been solidly in the QB1 discussion. This week a very favorable matchup against the struggling Jets probably instills high hopes for the Bengals’ passing attack, but the Jets have been one of the best defenses allowing fantasy points to QBs this season. Not necessarily because they’re a good defense, but because teams don’t have to pass on them. They give up by far the most points to RBs because teams typically have such a big lead on them. I would expect a heavy dose of Mixon and Perine this week with Burrow turning in a modest output as the Bengals roll over the Jets.

Tyler: I am fading DK Metcalf

Robert: I'm going with Mahomes or Gibson.

  1. What NFC team has been the most disappointing so far?

Jordan: Washington. I really thought they were going to be a contender this year. That’s clearly not the case.

Jason: The most disappointing NFC team this year has to be the San Francisco 49ers. Two years removed from a Super Bowl appearance, the 49ers can’t seem to get everything put together. Their offense is stagnant when trying to move the ball, and their defense has struggled to gets stops. They sit at 2-4 in the standing currently and appear to be on the outside looking in the NFC West.

Anthony: The Seahawks seem to be the most disappointing to me. They’ve been hit with a tough injury to QB Russell Wilson recently, but even before Russ got hurt they were one of the leagues worst defenses and haven’t looked dominant. Even before Russ got hurt they were 2-2 with losses to the Titans and Vikings. In the leagues toughest division they are quickly watching their season slip away.

Tyler: From the games I have seen the Bears have been the most disappointing. Even though they have a couple wins, I feel they should be better than they are.

Robert: Washington, thought they were going to kill it this year.

  1. What player are you panic trading if you had to?

Jordan: ARob. Please somebody take him from me.

Jason: I would be panic trading Allen Robinson if I had to. He has been a huge disappointment this year and I don’t think he is worth rostering. There is always a chance he may turn things around, but I wouldn’t count on that Bears offense to get things figured out anytime soon.

Anthony: Jalen Hurts. Hurts has been a QB1 this season who absolutely scares the crap out of you if you watch the games. He doesn’t seem to be progressing as a passer, but his running ability gives him a nice floor to finish inside the top 12 each week. Deshaun Watson rumors have been swirling since the off-season, and a recent report out of Philly mentions we might see back-up Gardner Minshew sooner than later. While Hurts has been good for fantasy, he hasn’t been getting it done for the Eagles which could lead to the rug getting pulled out from under him soon.

Tyler: OBJ

Robert: Gibson, Mike Davis or Mahomes.

That’s it for this week guys. Thanks for reading and as always, stay true.
