Round Table

Welcome back to the TSF Round Table where the guys at Truth Serum Football are here to talk some ball and our joined by a very special guest Mr. Brandon Peebler of the Peebcast! The Regular Season is rolling along and as always we're here to answer some questions. Have a question you want us to answer at next week’s Round Table discussion? Drop it in a comment below.

This was written prior to the Thursday night games.

  1. What is your upset of the week?

Pynakker: I’m going to go Lions over the Vikings, sooner or later they gotta win one right? Lol

Jimmy: I think the Steelers can beat the Ravens and I also think the Saints have a chance against the Cowboys.

Tyler: Upset if the week. It’s hard because a lot of teams are really close when it comes to wins and losses. I’ll be a homer and say the lions over the Vikings. We lost by a field goal with 37 seconds to go. Cook was out last time, he’s out this game. Lock me in for the lions and I’ll catch shit from Pynakker. Broncos over KC would be my runner up.

Ben: The Bears stun the Cardinals in a shootout in the Windy City.

Brandon: My upset of this week is Denver over KC. I think Denver knows them well and has built their team to give KC problems. Plus divisional in games anything can happen!

  1. What stud are you fading in PPR formats this week?

Pynakker: Jamar Chase, with Derwin James eyeing him up I’m fading him

Jimmy: I’m fading Barkley against the Miami defense who is surrendering the 5th fewest points to opposing backfields.

Tyler: I’m going to fade Hill against the d of Denver. It seems like the offense is getting their rhythm but I’m going to say they shut down hill Sunday night.

Ben: I’m fading all Patriots pass catchers, (wide receivers-Bourne and Meyers and tight ends-Hunter Henry), along with Mac Jones and the Patriots Defense. It’s tough to predict what the outcome of the matchup with the Bills will be so I recommend staying away from that matchup to see how both teams play in a key divisional game.

Brandon: This week I am fading Ja’mar Chase. He has just 6 catches for 71 yards the last 2 weeks and the chargers are not a good matchup for him.

  1. What’s up with the Seattle Seahawks?

Pynakker: They trash besides Dk, DKM can’t do everything himself

Jimmy: I have no idea what's up with the Seahawks. Ever since Russell Wilson went down with his injury, he hasn't played the same. The offense just isn't clicking and the defense can't carry them.

Tyler: Seahawks are a mess right now. They really don’t have much of a run game. Also, Pete needs to go. And I wonder if Russ is pulling an Aaron Rodgers and trying to get rid of Pete.

Ben: I think the biggest issues with the Seahawks is they have lost their identity on both the offense and defensive side of the ball. This is no longer the Legion of Boom who won one Super Bowl and were inches away from another one. Granted the defense is actually playing better this year than last year but it is a far cry from what it once was. The other issue is glaringly obvious, the run game for Seattle is abysmal. Numerous games where they have been kept under 100 yards on the ground and in some cases under 50 yards. If you can’t control the clock, you don’t dictate the game and the once dominate rushing attack is now playing with Alex Collins leading the charge, not having Carson or Penny staying healthy has basically ruined the Seahawks’ season.

Brandon: It’s really they are not playing complimentary football. Defensively they are one of the worst teams in football and they have really gotten away from running the ball, in part to injuries in the backfield. Not to mention Russ just hasn’t looked the same since returning from his injury. Put them together and you have a bad defense with a sputtering offense which makes for losing football.

  1. Who is your dark horse pick to win the Super Bowl?

Pynakker: Colts or Raiders

Jimmy: I think if the Cardinals can stay healthy they have a really good shot. Their offense is really working well. And as much as I hate to say it, always got to watch out for the Patriots. That whole team is clicking right now and it worries me.

Tyler: Bangles

Ben: My dark horse for the Super Bowl is either the Bengals or Chargers playing at SoFi in Los Angeles, although I hope they still lose to my Packers in that game.

Brandon: Honestly if we are talking dark horse, it’s got to be the San Francisco 49ers. They are such a talented team who went through a really rough patch. I think they are getting hot at the right time and that spells danger for the rest of the NFC.

  1. Bills or Pats on Monday night?

Pynakker: Bills although it wouldn’t surprise me if the pats won.

Jimmy: I want the Bills to win just because I hate the Patriots that much, but I do believe the Patriots are going to win this match.

Tyler: Bills. Although it would be great to see both Fan bases put in their place. Y’all talk too much haha

Ben: Bills right the ship and beat the Patriots, although knowing Belichick, it will probably be a close game.

Brandon: This one is by far the game of the week. I really like what the Patriots have done so far. It really reminds me of the 2001 patriots. Good defense that can be great and an offense that just gets it done. But….I like the Bills in this one. The Bills are finally starting to get production out of the backfield and Josh Allen has weapons all around. The key for me is the Bills defense vs the Pats offense. This will be the difference and this week I think the Bills do just enough to win the first of their two matchups.
