Round Table
Welcome back to the TSF Round Table where the guys at Truth Serum Football are here to
talk some ball and we're joined by a very special guest Sara Michelle Rue! Championship Sunday is almost here and as always we're here to answer some questions. Have a question you want us to answer at next week’s Round Table discussion? Drop it in a comment below.
- Let’s hear those Super Bowl Predictions!
Jordan: Chiefs over Rams
Zach: Rams over Chiefs
Dwight: Would love to see Bengals vs Niners, but it is so hard to not bet on the Rams vs Chiefs.
Seth: Kansas City chiefs 32
V.S.
Los Angeles Rams 25
Sara: Cincinnati Bengals and the Rams….I would love to see these two in the Super Bowl just because of the fact of having McVay on one side and his old QB coach Zac Taylor on the other side…and it is kind of cool that both of the QBs would have the number nine….Bengals win it all!
- What are your thoughts on the overtime rules?
Jordan: I think they should be changed strictly for the playoffs. Leave it alone for the regular season but let them each possess it during OT.
Zach: I say keep them the way they are, defenses win championships after all. With that being said, each team could get one possession each and if it’s still tied, go to a two point conversion hockey style shootout.
Dwight: O.T. rules are fine, it's a team sport, get a defense...I'm a rare one and loooooove defensive battles then offensive firepower.( not gonna lie though, Bills and Chiefs game, It could of gone that whole o.t., it was exciting)
Seth: I have always believed both teams should at least have one possession.
Sara: I think the overtime rules are just fine. Think about it…yes it would have been nice for Josh Allen to show us what he had, but neither defense was stopping either offense all night and where would it have ended? No matter what, someone was going to be upset and Buffalo’s defense should have stepped up and stopped them if they wanted a chance. Buffalo would have been celebrating and Kansas City would have been upset if it was the other way around; there’s no win for losing.
- Who is your favorite to have a breakout sophomore season this year?
Jordan: Michael Carter showed plenty of promise last season and I think he takes a huge leap forward in year 2.
Zach: Rhamondre Stevenson. The dude is a stud and will show it even more in year two.
Dwight: Michael Carter, that kid is gonna be fun to watch, like sproles 2.0.
Seth: Kadarius Toney. He had a few games where he showed out but coming into this next season I see him taking the number 2 spot with the Giants and running with it.
Sara: Evan McPherson…he is already on a hot streak this season with making hot, long field goals and could really start breaking records next year with that big leg that he has.
- Who is your winner for head coach of the year?
Jordan: My vote would go to Zac Taylor for the leap this Bengals team has taken.
Zach: Zac Taylor with Kyle Shanahan as a close second.
Dwight: Come on man, is there any other answer more correct then the goat, Mr Belichick? He did a lot with less, as usual..for the record, without Brady, I agree, not as many sb wins, and Brady without Bill...not as many sb wins.
Seth: I like Zac Taylor but believe it’s gonna go to Vrabel.
Sara: Zac Taylor…he is in his third year coaching a team that was depleted and just crashed from a Marvin Lewis, what like a 15 year era? Now he is in the AFC Championship game after only THREE years! He deserves it!
- Who ya got for comeback player of the year?
Jordan: It has to be Joe Burrow. This was Daks' award to lose and he did just that.
Zach: It’s hard to not say Burrow. What a sophomore leap!
Dwight: SAQUO....CM...Julio Jo....Michael Thoma.....hmmmmm.....comment in the thread if you're reading this...cuz I'm not sure. Probably Burrow though. Lol
Seth: Burrow and for me it’s not even close. He should be a lock.
Sara: I have Joey Burrow for comeback player of the year; I mean, think about it…he came back and started the season from a gruesome knee injury and then has carried the Bengals all the way to the AFC Championship game and has made great strides with the team as a whole.
That’s it for this week guys. Thanks for reading and as always, stay true.
