Round Table
Welcome back to the TSF Round Table where the guys at Truth Serum Football are here to
talk some ball and we're joined by a very special guest Nickolas Elwell! Super Bowl Sunday is almost here and as always we're here to answer some questions. Have a question you want us to answer at next week’s Round Table discussion? Drop it in a comment below.
- Who are you rooting for in the Super Bowl and why?
Jimmy: I will be rooting for the Bengals. I think 2 years ago having the number one pick and drafting Joe Burrow, to then have him get hurt last year during his rookie year, and then this year lead them to the Super Bowl... The story writes itself. However, the same can be said about Matt Stafford and his time in Detroit to now in his first year in LA leading them to a Super Bowl. I'd be okay if either team won, but I would be more excited for the Bengals.
Vince: Rams! Burrow still has a bigger window to get his. This is Stafford’s time!
Colt: I'm rooting for the Rams. I want Stafford to get his ring. He was tortured way too long in Detroit.
Nickolas: Cincy because i've been a big fan of Burrow since he was at Ohio state then at LSU.
- What do you see as the keys to the big game for each team?
Jimmy: I think the keys to the game on both sides would be the offense. Both teams defenses have been playing really well in the postseason, so I think the offenses need to click and put up big points. I see this game being a shootout and coming down to a costly turnover.
Vince: Keep it close and get the last possession for the game winning field goal!
Colt: Bengals biggest key to victory is the offensive line. The Rams biggest key is the secondary slowing down the potent Bengals WRs.
Nickolas: The Rams defense needs to show up and do what they are paid for. As for Cincy they have to not get too ahead of themselves and just play their game that they have been playing to get them to this point.
- What is your take on the Brian Flores/Dolphins scandal?
Jimmy: If he's telling the truth, it just opened up a door for other head coaches who were in the same position to now say it happened to them too (Hue Jackson already did). I would like to see some kind of proof, rather than just a he said/he said situation.
Vince: Racism is real and still exists. Ross needs to go, and I think there’s more to the story that really set Flores off.
Colt: I love Flores. Flores was wrongfully terminated, and it wouldn't surprise me if there is truth to the tanking rumors. I love that Flores during this scandal is still a top candidate for the Texans. I wish him nothing but the best.
Nickolas: It's interesting and on paper makes a lot of sense and I totally get where he's coming from but the NFL is a LOT like our government and it's just how it is and always will be unfortunately.
- Where are you ranking Deebo Samuel in PPR formats as of now?
Jimmy: As of right now I would put Deebo in the top five WRs. Maybe even top three with his rushing ability. He's going very early rounds next year.
Vince: Easily top 10 wr, but I still try to avoid the injury prone.
Colt: Deebo is easily in my top 5. He has always had the talent to be a top WR, but was always held back by injuries.
Nickolas: I got Deebo 2nd behind Ja'mar Chase.
- What is your go to Super Bowl party food?
Jimmy: Every year for the super bowl we always have pizza, wings, chips and dip. We just eat food all day. It's a nice tradition.
Vince: Rage dip! Layered dip with cream cheese at the bottom, green chiles, chili no beans and then cheese on top and baked at 350 for 30mins
Colt: Wings will forever be my go to! I also love making my homemade Queso dip.
Nickolas: My soon to be world famous cheese dip.
That’s it for this week guys. Thanks for reading and as always, stay true.
