Round Table Week 13
Week 13 is upon us and the NFL season is disappearing before our eyes. It seems just like yesterday that we were all playing scheduling gymnastics to coordinate our draft times and now we’re ramping up for the playoff push. We’re joined by some of our favorite fans this week to discuss the NFL playoff picture.
With the Playoff race heating up which current division leader is most likely to fall out of the playoffs?
Wyatt Brown -
Tampa Bay in the NFC unless they can figure a few things out. The whole division would have to do the same.
Jimmy Palucci -
I would say Tampa Bay or even Baltimore. The NFC South is a shit show and they haven’t been proving themselves as a playoff contender. Baltimore is hit with injuries and I think they have a chance of missing the division title and a wild card spot.
David Dzienis - Truth Serum Football
The key words here are "out of the playoffs". In my eyes, even if Baltimore or Buffalo/Miami stumbles, they still have a viable path to the playoffs. The answer has to be Tampa Bay. ONLY the winner of that division is likely to get in and they haven't seemed stable at all this year. Literally, whichever team remembers how to play NFL football in that division can win it.
Colt Martin
I would probably say the Ravens. Baltimore just seems to always break down when the playoffs are around the corner. Offensively Lamar doesn’t have enough weapons to get over the hump. The WRs have been a major issue for a whileand they lost their WR1 for the year. Defensively they have been getting beat all year. The team as a whole looked flat against a Jags team that should have won easily.
Which current wild card team is most likely to win their division?
Wyatt Brown
Dallas has the best road to do so. Miami/Buffalo/NY Jets race has a lot of potential but I think they finish in the same order.
Jimmy Palucci
Cincinatti or Dallas will catch up to their respective leaders. Chase is coming back which gives Burrow his top weapon back. Dallas is clicking on all fronts and has a showdown with Philly for Christmas.
David Dzienis - Truth Serum Football
I'm going with the Bengals, winners of 3 straight without the help of Jamarr Chase.
Colt Martin
I said a few weeks back once Dallas had Dak back they could catch the Eagles. I also think that the Bengals pass up the Ravens. The Bengals have found their groove and are about to get Chase back.
Which team do you think is most likely to end up with the number one pick?
Wyatt Brown
Texans will have the number 1 pick. They have a lot of the right pieces but I think they’ll take a RB unless someone trades up for a QB.
Jimmy Palucci
Houston is a horrible team. They’ll easily take the first overall pick.
David Dzienis - Truth Serum Football
Texans...I'm sorry was more needed here?
Colt Martin
It easily the Texans at this point.
Which player are you expecting to be the number one overall pick?
Wyatt Brown -
I haven’t looked that closely to see who is coming out of the college ranks this year. I have not spent enough time watching Saturday football.
Jimmy Palucci
Bryce Young will be a Texan unless someone trades up. They need to make QB the top priority.
David Dzienis - Truth Serum Football
Bryce Young or CJ Stroud will be the next QB for the Texans. They'd be better off with Bryce Young with OSU history of sending QB's to the NFL who flop...and before any one says, what about Fields, he's a RB, let's be real.
Colt Martin
Bryce Young is most likely the first off the board. The Texans need to address QB. Young just may be that answer.
Who are your current Super Bowl picks and winner?
Wyatt Brown
I think we’re going to see a rematch of SB LIV with the Chiefs coming away with it again. San Francisio is clicking at the right time. CMC has given the offense the jumpstart they needed but Jimmy G is still at the helm for the 9ers.
Jimmy Palucci
Chiefs from the ACE and Minnesota from the NFC. I would have to honestly say Minnesota. I think they’re going to continue their hot streak this season and make a strong Super Bowl push.
David Dzienis - Truth Serum Football
Miami - Philadelphia, Tua vs Hurts! Whoever has the ball last wins!
Colt Martin
I have 2 different scenarios. The first is KC vs San Fran rematch. KC has answered every concern prior to the season. Mahomes is the MVP frontrunner and would love to see him face off against the leagues best defense. The 49ers also have a lot more firepower than they did a few seasons ago.
The second scenario is the Bills vs the Cowboys. It’s possible Allen gets the monkey off of his back and beats KC. The Bills high powered offense vs a great Dallas defense would be fun to watch. Dallas finally getting over that hump after all of this time woul dhave the media eating out of the palm of their hand.
