The IDP Corner

Week 2 takeaways and waiver adds

Welcome back to the IDP Corner! Week 2 has come and gone and maybe will help us get a little better picture of what defenses are to be feared. And which can be faded

The Pittsburgh Steelers defense still looked great in week 2. Cameron Heyward looks like he’s on pace to be a top defensive end. But they have been bitten by the injury bug. TJ Watt left the game early and Devin Bush was out with a groin injury.

The Vikings defense seems to be a completely different defense than last year. Nick vigil returned and interception for a TD. Xavier Woods got an INT and a Forced fumble. Danielle Hunter continues on his hot streak this week putting up 3 sacks. Eric Kendricks also got 9 solo tackles.

Nick Bosa continues his hot streak and puts up 2 sacks and a forced fumble along with 2 solo tackles and an assist.

Bobby Wagner aka seattle's defense. He pretty much handled all defensive work for the Seahawks. Setting the franchise record with 20 tackles(16 solo 4 assist) and a sack

Roquan Smith had a monster game returning an interception 53 yards for a touchdown, 8 tackles (5 solo,3 assist) and a sack.

Along with the good there’s been some slow starts as well. JJ Watt has gotten off to a very slow start in his new home of Arizona. Only getting 4 solo tackles through the first two weeks. Jeremy Chinn is also off to a slow start with only 6 solo tackles to start the year. And after a monster week one Chandler Jones did not show up. I watched the game and was hoping to see some big action out of him but notta big 0 burger.

Key injuries to keep an eye on:

TJ Watt left the game with a groin injury and is questionable in week 3

Bradley Chubb’s ankle injury continues to linger and bug him the Broncos we’re considering a short term IR but it appears they’re not going that route so I would say his week 3 is definitely questionable

Za’Darious Smith was placed on IR on Friday with back issues that have been lingering all preseason.

Cj Henderson dealing with a groin issue is questionable for week 3

Devin Bush and Joe Haden are inactive week 2 with a groin issue and are questionable week 3

Josh Norman is considered day to day with an ankle injury

Jayon Brown missed week 2 with a hamstring injury and is questionable week 3

Nick Vigil linebacker for the Vikings put up good numbers in week 1 and continued into week 2. In week 2 he recorded 4 solos and 4 assists and a pick 6! Looking like he’s on a solid path this year.
