Week 3 takeaways and top waiver adds
Welcome to the IDP corner!! Week 3 is in the books and here are some takeaways and top waiver adds!
So pretty consistently lately I’ve been talking about the Vikings defense. But hard not too when two of their linebackers are in the top 5 in IDP fantasy. Nick Vigil is currently sitting in the #3 LB spot and has been consistently putting up solid scores. Also Eric Kendricks is sitting in the # 5 spot and is continuing to be a star at that position. A lot of people overlooked Kendricks in fantasy drafts because at the end of the season last year he got injured and missed the final 5 games but he was on pace to be a top LB and looks to be continuing that pace this year. Note if Nick Vigil is available grab him where and while you can.
Let’s shine the spotlight on Myles Garrett. Solid showing this week against a non-existent Bears offense. He got to Justin Fields 4.5 times! What a way to welcome a rookie QB! 6 solo tackles 4 of which were for a loss. He’s had a slightly slow start to the season so it’s nice to see good things from one of the top DE draft picks. His teammate Jadaveon Clowney also got to Fields 2 times and recorded 2 solos and 2 for a loss.
Over on the Seahawks defense Jamal Adams finally got things going this week getting 10 solo tackles. And Bobby Wagner got 4 solos and 7 assists continuing his streak.
The Panthers DL seems to be pretty solid to start the year with the likes of Brian Burns, Derrick Brown, and Shaq Thompson. All 3 have been putting up consistent fantasy points and seem to be on a roll.
Some top scorers this week were:
Byron Murphy CB for the Arizona cardinals getting 2 interceptions and 1 TD against the Jaguars
Chuck Clark of the ravens got 9 solo tackles and sack
Kenny Young LB for the rams 8 solo tackles 1 sack and forced fumble.
Key injuries to keep an eye on:
AJ Terrel left the game early and is in concussion protocol
Jordan Poyer left Sunday's game with an ankle injury and is considered day to day
Rookie Jaycee Horn was placed on IR with a foot injury
Khalil Mack left Sunday’s game but returned from a foot injury showing signs of struggle so keep an eye on that
Kwity Paye suffered a hamstring injury
Tre’von Moerig suffered an ankle injury late in Sunday’s game
Derwin James left with a shoulder injury but did return to the game
Justin Hollins suffered a pectoral injury and will undergo surgery on Tuesday. expected to be placed on IR
Blake Martinez torn ACL and is out for the season
TJ Watt sat out this week
Bradley Chubb was placed on IR and had ankle surgery
Cj Henderson may be available in week 4
WAIVER ADD OF THE WEEK:
Javon Hargrave solid game against the cowboys 5 solo tackles and 2 sacks. Bringing him to 4 sacks on the year so far. Currently #2 Defensive tackle and is surprisingly available in quite a few leagues. He’s been pretty consistent week to week and is putting up solid fantasy points
