Week 6 was upset central as several of the perennial contenders of the league succumbed to teams they should have beaten handily. The week was capped off with a rematch of the Bills and Chiefs which didn’t quite live up to the hype of last season’s playoff banger. There was plenty of bed shitting this week, and the bread winning was much harder to come by. Let’s get it on! 

Breadwinners

Matt Ryan

Matt Ryan finally dialed back the clock Sunday and had easily his best game as an Indianapolis Colt. Ryan was 42 of 58 and tossed 389 yards and 3 TDs against the Jaguars. All of this was accomplished without star RB Johnathon Taylor, which has to give Ryan and Taylor owners hope as we move into week 7. Ryan was able to connect on a game-winning TD in the 4th quarter as well and the Colts now look like they have some life in them.  Ryan also had a special accomplishment on Sunday as he moved past Dan Marino for 7th all-time in passing yards. He now trails Philip Rivers by 1940 years and has a shot at reaching that before the end of the season. 

Stefon Diggs

Another Sunday is in the books and another monster day by Stefon Diggs is complete. Diggs hauled in 10 of his 13 passes and tied his season high in yardage with 148 and found the endzone again. The Bills were the big winners, avenging their playoff loss to Kansas City, and now sit in sole possession of the number one seed in the AFC. Speaking of sitting in sole possession of first, this performance by Diggs allowed him to move past Cooper Kupp as WR1 on the season. 

Brandon Aiyuk

Those fantasy managers that held out for Brandon Aiyuk’s big day were finally rewarded, and quite handsomely at that. The former first-rounder brought in 8 of his 11 targets for 83 yards and two scores. It was a great day for Aiyuk, but not a great day for the 49ers as they fell short to the Falcons. It was a season-high for fantasy points, targets, receptions, yards, and TDs on the day for Aiyuk. 

Ja’Marr Chase

Finally, the rock has come back to……Jamar Chase. What a day for Jamar Chase and his fantasy owners. After a few weeks on the Bedshitter’s list, he finally forced his way back onto Breadwinners. It seemed like it would be a big day for him, just look at Joey BRRRR’s game-worn jersey that he rocked pregame. Chase actually had fewer targets than he did last week and the same amount of catches but he made the best of them with 132 yards and 2 very long TD catches. Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come for Jamar. 

Joe Burrow

Joe Burrow came into Sunday dripping with swagger, as seen above, by rocking the Ja’Marr Chase game-worn jersey from their National Championship win together. On the day he not only hit Chase for the two long bombs but also found the endzone two additional times, including one on the ground. In total Burrow was 28/37 for 300 yards and 3 TDs through the air and ran the ball 4 times for 25 yards and a TD. This could be a sign that the Bengals are ready to get back into the form they showed down the stretch last season. 

Bedshitters

Nick Chubb

Nick Chubb was one of the most polarizing players of the draft season. Some people refused to draft him because of his limited ceiling, while others were all about the consistent floor he provided. For the first time this year, Chubb was closer to the floor than the ceiling and didn’t offer his fantasy owners much on the day. Over the last three weeks, Chubb has averaged almost 122 yards on the ground and has found the endzone in each game. This week he was only able to muster 56 yards on the ground and didn’t find the end zone. For some fantasy RBs, 56 yards wouldn’t be that bad of a day, but for most Chubb owners, it just wasn’t enough. 

Tom Brady

The stage was set for a vintage Tom Brady game on Sunday. Brady had almost his full arsenal of weapons on the field and the Steelers' defense, already reeling without T.J. Watt, was also without Minkah Fitzpatrick and three cornerbacks. On top of everything else, the Steelers were reeling after getting blown out just a week ago. Apparently, Tom didn’t get the memo. Not only did the Bucs fail to win, but Brady was also far from good, tossing only 243 yards and a TD. It’s never easy to lose to a bad team, but the pill is much harder to swallow when the team has a rookie QB and Mitchell Trubisky leading the charge. It was a rough day for the hall of fame QBs. 

Aaron Rodgers

Not to be outdone by Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers also decided to be featured on the shit list this week. Rodgers had a very similar stat line to Brady throwing for 246 and a TD but this offense looked downright dreadful and the Jets were all over Rodgers all day. He also failed to get his running game going with Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. The Jets won the game easily and the once mighty Packers are now 3-3 and looking like a shell of their former offensive selves. 

DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett

Sunday was not a great day for the dynamic Seattle receiving duo. Seattle was able to capture the win, but mostly on the legs of rookie phenom Kenneth Walker III. Metcalf and Lockett and 7 and 5 targets on the day respectively. Metcalf brought in two of his targets for 34 yards. Lockett also brought in two of his targets but only for 17 yards. There are sure to be better days ahead for the duo who have been mainstays in the Breadwinners category, but this Sunday was not their day. I guess DK didn’t get to the locker room bathroom on time this week.
